Service station targeted in attempted armed robbery north of the GC

A man’s threatened a service station worker with a knife during a failed robbery attempt at Greenbank north of the Gold Coast.

Around 9.05pm he walked into the Sheppards Drive business and demanded money and cigarettes.

The 38-year-old woman on duty refused to give him anything.

The would-be thief stabbed a small electronic screen on the counter before running off empty handed.

No one was hurt.

The man is described as being aged in his mid 20’s, Caucasian in appearance with a slim build and was wearing a grey hoodie, grey/blue long pants, white hat, white shoes, white gloves and a black shiny cloth across the lower half of his face.

Investigations are continuing.
