UPDATE 10:20AM | A 16-YEAR-OLD boy has died following a mass stabbing at a house party in Sydney’s northwest overnight.
Police were called to the home in Ryde just after midnight after paramedics were called to treat an unconscious person but instead arrived to find seven people with stab wounds.
The 16-year-old boy was rushed to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries and died in hospital this morning.
The incident is now being treated as a homicide.
EARLIER: A 16-YEAR-OLD boy is in a critical condition in hospital after he and six other people were stabbed at a house party in Sydney’s north-west overnight.
Police raced to the Victoria Road home in Ryde just after midnight following reports of a mass stabbing.
Paramedics had been called to the scene first to treat an unconscious person but were forced to call for urgent police back up when they arrived and discovered seven people – six males and one female – had been stabbed.
A 16-year-old boy was rushed to Westmead Hospital where he remains this morning in a critical condition.
Another 16-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man were also taken to the same hospital and are both understood to be in a serious condition.
Three other boys, two aged 16 and one aged 17, and an 18-year-old woman were taken to Royal North Shore Hospital with less serious stab wounds.
They are all understood to be in a stable condition.
Extra police were called in to deal with dozens agitated partygoers and to break up the party.
A crime scene was established at the house and examined by forensics early this morning.
Detectives are speaking to witnesses.
No arrests have been made at this stage.
