Seven teens charged after pulling knife on man and woman

SEVEN teenagers have been charged after a man and a woman were assaulted in Broadbeach..

Police say the pair were sitting on a bench seat on Broadbeach Boulevard around 11.20pm Friday night, when three of the men in the group were walking past.

The group became involved in a brief altercation before leaving the area, then returned a short time later with four others.

One of the group then allegedly pulled a knife on the man and woman, leaving the man with cuts to his hand and the woman with cuts to her foot.

Police say that the group then stole the woman’s handbag and fled on foot.

Five men from Victoria aged 18 and two boys aged 17 have all been charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm and stealing.

The man will face court next month.
