Emergency services were kept busy on the Gold Coast, having to rescue a number of motorists who were caught up in floodwaters.
The Gold Coast received another dumping of rain overnight, with some areas seeing almost 70 millimetres fall within an hour.
Mudgeeraba, Wongawallan and surrounding areas copped the worst of it, with some roads still affected by floodwaters this morning.

A number of cars had to be rescued, with Queensland Ambulance issuing reminders overnight that ‘if it’s flooded, forget it’ and ‘back up’.
Luckily, there were no injuries reported as a result of the rescues.
