Several GC beaches closed due to dangerous conditions

A number of Gold Coast beaches have been closed due to dangerous conditions.

Gold Coast Lifeguards have confirmed Surfers Paradise, Mermaid Beach, Nobby Beach, Miami Beach, North Burleigh, Tallebudgera Beach, Palm Beach, Currumbin Beach, Tugun, Bilinga, Kirra and Breaker St at Main Beach are all off limits.

The wild conditions are expected to hang around right through Friday and across Saturday with the Bureau of Meteorology issuing a Hazardous Surf Warning across the Gold Coast.

Lifeguards will continue to monitor the conditions through the day and are reminding beachgoers to exercise caution in the areas that remain open, swim between the flags, stay close to shore and heed directions from our experienced personnel.
