Gold Coast lifeguards have closed several beaches today, as hazardous surf conditions continue from the weekend.
Northern beaches between Surfers Paradise and the Seaway are closed this morning, as well as Margaret Avenue in Broadbeach.
Acting Chief Lifeguard Chris Maynard says the conditions just aren’t suitable for swimmers.

“We’re still getting a consistent easterly two metre swell, which is causing large onshore waves,” Mr Maynard said.
It comes after a handful of beaches had to be closed over the weekend due to rough conditions as well.
Surfers Paradise and Nobby Beach were off limits to swimmers yesterday.
