Several injured after Sydney bus mounts footpath, crashes into cars

Several people have been rushed to hospital following a serious bus crash in Cammeray, Sydney this morning.

Police say that around 8.50am, a bus allegedly left the road way, striking a tree, which was pushed into a shop awning, before driving onto a pedestrian strip, and hitting two parked cars and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a man believed to be aged in his 60s, was treated at the scene before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital where he remains in a serious, but stable, condition.


A female passenger in the bus and four bystanders were also taken to Royal North Shore Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the bus, a man, has been taken to the same hospital however his condition is currently unknown.

Crash Investigation Unit officers are at the scene working to investigate the circumstances leading up to the crash.

Motorists have been advised to avoid the area.
