LATEST @ 5.25 PM | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for people in parts of the Scenic Rim and Southern Downs.
The Bureau of Meteorology says severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Maroon Dam and the area south of Cunninghams Gap around 5.10pm.
The thunderstorms are slow-moving and are forecast to affect Mount Barney and Moogerah by 6:10 pm.

“Heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding is likely,” BOM warned.
The next warning is due to be issued by 6:15 pm.
EARLIER @ 12.10 PM | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for South East Queensland, with Logan currently in the firing line.
The Bureau of Meteorology says the severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Ipswich and Tingalpa Reservoir just before midday.
The storms are slow-moving and are forecast to affect Amberley by 12:25 pm and Rosewood by 12:55 pm.
“Heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding is likely,” BOM said.
While the Gold Coast is not affected at this stage, we are being warned thunderstorms are ‘possible’ later this afternoon.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it’s flooded, forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
