IT is looking more likely that a thunderstorm will hit the Gold Coast on Thursday, rather than Friday.
The Weather Bureau tells us that those storms could be severe, so we will keep you up to date with warnings during the day.
Meteorologist Adam Woods said the activity will develop in the hinterland.

He said we have a trough to the southwest, “we’ll see some showers and storms develop northeast of that trough during the afternoon or evening and the steering will track them towards the southeast coast so we’re looking at storms affecting the southeast coast, metropolitan areas and the Gold Coast from about 3:00pm onwards”.
He predicts falls somewhere between the 10 and 20 millimetre mark.
Mr Woods added that it is looking like the storm will hit today, rather than tomorrow, when we could just see a few showers.
