Sex predator charged with attacking four women and trying to rape a fifth

A SERIAL sex predator accused of indecently assaulting four women and trying to rape a fifth over an 11 month period has been arrested in Sydney’s east.

The 46-year-old man is alleged to have first struck at Kingsford on April 5 last year (2016). Police say it was around 6.10pm when a 38-year-old woman was ambushed by the man as she walked down Willis Lane.

The man allegedly grabbed the woman from behind and dragged her backward before trying to rape her in a bush.

The brave woman fought back and managed to escape after breaking free of the man’s grip. Police said she was left with injuries to her legs.

The second attack occurred in the same suburb several months later, on December 8. Police said a woman was shoved up against a wall and indecently assaulted on Barker Street around 8.55pm.

Then, on February 12 this year, the same man allegedly struck again, this time indecently assaulting an 18-year-old woman outside a unit complex on Cowper Street in Randwick.

A few days later on February 19, a second 18-year-old woman was indecently assaulted outside a unit complex on Alison Road around 6.30pm.

Three days after that, on the night of February 22, a 21-year-old woman was indecently assaulted outside a unit complex on Forsyth Street at Kingsford.

Following extensive inquiries, detectives on Friday arrested the 46-year-old man at a house in Kingsford.

He was charged last yesterday with inflicting actual bodily harm with intent to have sexual intercourse and four counts of indecent assault.

The accused predator was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.
