Queensland’s Shadow Police Minister has had to stand down from the role, after he was fined for breaching coronavirus restrictions.
Toowoomba North MP Trevor Watts and two police officers each copped $1334 fines over the weekend, after they were caught having driveway drinks with neighbours.
The LNP will now have to reshuffle their ministry, just months away from the state election.

Leader Deb Frecklington has accepted the resignation, thanking Mr Watts for his honesty.
“I expect the highest standards from my team, especially my shadow ministers.
“I want to thank Trevor for his shadow ministerial service and his honesty in advising me of this issue,” Ms Frecklington said.
Mr Watts has reportedly made the following statement to channel 7:
“My actions demonstrated a momentary lack of judgement and I regret them deeply.”
