Shaun Kenny-Dowall’s NRL career is in limbo after the Sydney Roosters confirmed the star had been released from the rest of his contract, effective immediately.
Kenny-Dowall hasn’t played since he was allegedly busted in possession of cocaine by police at a Sydney nightclub last month.
“Shaun has made a significant contribution to the Roosters’ on-field success across his 13 years at the Club, and for that, we thank him,” Roosters CEO Joe Kelly said in a brief statement.

“The Club wishes Shaun all the very best in the future,” he added.
It comes just eight days before Kenny-Dowall is due to face court on a drug possession charge.
