Shocking CCTV footage shows moment Gold Coast brothel was set alight

QUEENSLAND Police have released shocking CCTV footage showing the moment a notorious Gold Coast brothel was set alight.

Silks in Bundall was completely destroyed after an arson attack on the morning of November 10 last year.

Emergency services were called to the business around 4.30am that morning after smoke was seen billowing into the air.


It took some time for firefighters to extinguish the blaze.

Fresh CCTV footage, released by Queensland Police on Wednesday, shows the moment two unknown offenders arrive at the Upton Street address in a silver Honda sedan on that morning.

Moments later they can be seen throwing a flammable substance at the front door before setting it alight.

One of the offenders also catches alight and is seen desperately trying to put out the flames before they both get into the car and drive off.


Queensland Police have confirmed the car involved is yet to be located.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have information about offence or dashcam vision and was driving along Upton Street, Racecourse Drive or Crombie Avenue between 4am and 4:45am on November 10, to please contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
