Shooting victim to be quizzed by police as gunmen remain on the run

POLICE are reviewing security footage to try and identify two gunmen who stormed into a Surfers Paradise high-rise.

The armed men, described as being aged between 25 and 30, barged into a room on the sixth floor of the Mantra Crown Towers resort on Palm Ave just before 8am on Friday.

They shot a 31-year-old man in the stomach before running off through a packed lobby and onto the street. They remain on the run.


The victim has undergone surgery at Gold Coast University Hospital and Police hope to interview him for more information about the gunman.
