Shots fired at popular shopping centre car park

Shots have been fired into a car parked at a busy car park on the Gold Coast overnight.

Investigations are underway after a firearm was discharged into a Land Rover/Range Rover at a car park at Harbour Town around 10pm.

A man and a woman were in the car when it was shot at on the eastern side of the car park near the food court.

The 38-year-old man and 22 year-old woman were uninjured in the shooting and drove to an address on East Quay Drive before calling police.

An armed man in a dark hoodie a balaclava was seen leaving the scene in a white Mercedes SUV, which was later found on East Quay Drive as well, set on fire.

Three crime scenes have been established overnight, one at Harbour Town, and one at each of the East Quay Drive locations.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incidents or has any dash cam footage to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
