Shots fired at Gold Coast house party

A house party in Highland Park has abruptly ended after a man with a shot gun turned up early this morning.

Police were called to the Renfrew Drive property around 1.15am after neighbours heard a number of gun shots.

It’s believed four people turned up in a car, described as being a Ford Focus or similar vehicle, before one man got out and went into the backyard of the house and opened fire.

Police found three spent rounds and one unspent round, believed to have come from a shotgun.

No one was injured as a result of the shooting, but two men suffered minor injuries after confronting the occupants of the car and attempting to punch the driver’s window and rear window.

They were taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.

The car sped off and those involved remain on the run.

Police are appealing to anyone in Highland Park and surrounding suburbs who may have any CCTV or dashcam footage of interest to contact them immediately.
