Six men charged with murder after man dies in stabbing attack on Sydney street

Six men have been charged with the murder of a man who died after he was brutally assaulted and stabbed on a street in Sydney’s south-west in December last year.

Tu Luong, 35, suffered numerous injuries and was rushed to Liverpool Hospital but died a short time later.

The Homicide Squad established Strike Force Guntawong to investigate the incident.


On Wednesday, Homicide Squad detectives executed five search warrants at Casula, Liverpool, Fairfield East and Smithfield where they arrested the men.

A .22 bolt action rifle was seized at the Liverpool address and an air rifle and drugs suspected of being heroin were seized from a Fairfield East address.

A 35-year-old Casula man, 32-year-old Liverpool man, two 38-year-old men from Fairfield East, a 37-year-old Smithfield man and a 36-year-old man from Phillip, in the Australian Capital Territory, have been charged with murder.
