Six teens charged over stolen car spree across Gold Coast

Six teenagers, the youngest just 13-years-old, have been charged after three luxury cars were stolen from a Gold Coast home and allegedly used in several crimes across the city.

A Mercedes Benz sedan, a Mercedes SUV, and an Infinity sedan were stolen from a home on Monaco St in Broadbeach Waters in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police allege the vehicles were later involved in a number of petrol drive-offs and a break and enter at a Palm Beach chemist around 4am on Sunday.


The cars were spotted by Police and members of the public several times during the day on Sunday travelling in convoy and driving dangerously and at high speed.

The Mercedes sedan was spotted in the car park of a restaurant on Days Rd at Upper Coomera around 4.30pm on Sunday with a teenage boy seen getting into a van.

The van was tracked to a home in Torrington St where a 17-year-old boy was arrested.

He’s been charged with unlawful use of motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a vehicle, burglary, receiving tainted property and enter premise and commit.

The teen was denied police bail to front the Southport Children’s Court.

Police have since caught up with the teen’s alleged accomplices arresting a 13-year-old Park Ridge boy, 14-year-old Pimpama boy, 15-year-old Upper Coomera girl, 16-year-old Molendinar girl, and a 16-year-old Park Ridge girl.

All have been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The 14-year-old Pimpama boy has also been charged with possessing utensils and driving without a licence.

The 16-year-old Molendinar girl has also been charged with stealing.

All are expected to front Beenleigh Children’s Court.
