Six units damaged after fire rips through Wagga building

A block of units has been damaged by fire in the Riverina city of Wagga Wagga.

The blaze broke out in the Bavaria Street building in Tolland just before 9.30 on Saturday morning.

Fire crews raced to the scene, arriving to find thick smoke billowing from the unit block.

Crews worked to extinguished the blaze and stop the flames from spreading to nearby homes.

In all, six units were damaged.

Police said residents had managed to evacuate themselves.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

Police are investigating the cause of the fire however say the blaze is not being treated as suspicious.
