Six-year-old girl threatened with knife in terrifying attempted carjacking

A MAN has been charged over a terrifying attempted carjacking which saw a six-year-old girl threatened with a knife in NSW.

The shocking incident unfolded in the drive through of a fast-food restaurant in Corowa on Saturday.

Police said a 42-year-old man and a six-year-old girl were stationary in their car when they were confronted by a 28-year-old man armed with a knife.


The man allegedly threatened the duo before demanding the keys to the car.

“As the 42-year-old man got out of the vehicle, the 28-year-old man left the area,” police said in a statement.

He was taken into custody a short distance away and has since been charged with aggravated assault with intent to take/drive motor vehicle armed with weapon and enter vehicle without consent of owner.

The man was refused bail to appear at Albury Local Court today.
