Sixth case of Meningococcal in Queensland
A sixth case of meningococcal disease has been diagnosed in Queensland
A Queensland Health spokesperson has confirmed an adult in Toowoomba is the latest person to be diagnosed with the potentially deadly disease.
It comes amid a string of cases among children in the state.
Four children, including three from the same family, were admitted to Hospital with meningococcal disease over the past week.. before a six-year-old boy in Cairns also fell ill.
Symptoms in young children include fever, extreme tiredness, nausea or vomiting, and a rash of red or purple pinprick spots or larger bruises.
