Skateboarder suffers significant head injury in fall

A man has suffered serious injuries after hitting his head on the road when coming off his skateboard in Pimpama.

The 40-year-old was found by a woman on Aspect Street, around 10pm on Friday.

Police have not confirmed if he was wearing a helmet at the time he fell.

He was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with a significant head injury and remains in serious condition.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident.
