Skeletal remains found under Ipswich house during renovations

UPDATE: Police investigating the discovery of skeletal remains near Ipswich have determined that they are not that human.

The crime scene is being dismantled and no further police action will be required.

EARLIER: A CRIME scene has been established following the discovery of skeletal remains at an abandoned house in Ipswich.

The remains were located underneath the floor boards of the Brisbane Street house while it was being renovated on Monday afternoon.

Forensic testing will be carried out to confirm whether the bones are human remains.

Officers guarded the scene overnight and further examinations at the house will be conducted later today.

Investigations are continuing.
