Smiling speed signs to slow Gold Coasters down

Another 24 speed awareness devices are set to be installed on the Gold Coast in the hope of improving road safety in the city.

It comes after the outstanding success of 15 devices which have been rotated across 35 priority locations since August 2015.

Mayor Tom Tate said: “More than half of motorists were speeding at these locations prior to a device being installed. With the devices in place, we now have that number down to about 10 per cent.”
