For the first time in history, snow has fallen on the ground during an AFL match.
Greater Western Sydney took on Hawthorn last night in the nation’s capital, Canberra, where frosty conditions were expected.
Though just minutes into the first quarter, the ground copped a dusting from snow for the first time ever.

Rain, hail or … snow – the show goes on. Fans can be seen donning snow jackets and goggles, while the players continue playing.
It seems the Hawks did a better job of adjusting to the unprecedented conditions, with a 13.7 (85) to 4.5 (29) victory.
