The Socceroos have jumped up to number 43 in the world rankings after their heart-stopping World Cup qualification victory over Syria.
It’s a move of seven places for the Australian side and the highest ranking the side has achieved this year.
The Socceroos recorded 1-1 and 2-1 results over Syria, who are ranked at number 77 in the world, earlier this month.

The side now take on Honduras next month for a spot in the 2018 event in Russia.
Honduras have climbed from 74 to 69 after finishing fourth in CONCACAF qualification.
Germany continue to lead the world rankings, ahead of Brazil and Portugal.
