Storyfest’s On the road program is looking for schools across the Gold Coast and surrounding areas to visit!

Local parents and teachers are being encouraged to register to have the Storyfest van visit their school or early learning centre for a free author presentation and workshop.

Storyfest CEO Andrea Lewis said some of Australia’s best authors will be taking part in Storyfest On the road.

“We have some incredible authors that will be sharing their wisdom with local kids, including Lucas Proudfoot, Lucia Masciullo and NAdia Sunde to name a few,” she said.

“Having kids interact face to face with authors is hugely beneficial. It gets them excited about reading and helps to improve their comprehension. The authors really encourage the kids, and share the tools and mechanisms they use to write stories.”

Ms Lewis said Storyfest On the road is suitable for kids aged from 2 to 13.

“We are able to visit three schools a week for the rest of the year, so roughly 45 schools,” she said.

“Anyone can register for this incredible opportunity. The more kids we can visit, the better!”

Registrations for Storyfest On the road are open until August 31. To register, visit: storyfest.com.au/schools/on-the-road
