Son accused of bludgeoning his elderly father to death with a hammer

UPDATE @ September 30 2017 6:30am | A man will face court today charged with the alleged violent murder of his elderly father.

The 39-year-old was arrested on Friday, after Police arrived at a home in Sydney’s west to find the badly beaten 87-year-old.

NSW Ambulance paramedics were unable to revive the man.

The man’s son was arrested at the scene and taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he was later charged with murder.

He has been refused bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.

It comes amid another investigation into an alleged domestic violence attack in Sydney’s west.

Emergency services were called to Moresby Street, Whalan, about 2am on Saturday following reports of an incident.

The 30-year-old woman was treated by paramedics for a stab wound to her torso, but she died at the scene.

A 26-year-old man is being questioned by Mount Druitt Police.

This is the fourth alleged domestic violence-related attack in NSW in as many days.

EARLIER @ September 29 2017 2:40pm | A MAN has died after allegedly being bludgeoned with a hammer by his own son at the family home in Sydney.

Police and paramedics were called to a townhouse complex on Memorial Avenue in Liverpool just before 10.30am on Friday following reports that a man was being attacked.

They arrived to find an 87-year-old man deceased inside the home with extensive injuries to his head and neck.

Police described the man’s injuries as “horrific”. It’s understood he was attacked with a hammer and a knife.

They are yet to reveal what weapon was used.
