Son arrested after brutally bashing parents with baseball bat, setting house on fire

A MAN has been taken into custody after he brutally bashed his elderly parents with a baseball bat before setting their home on fire.

The horrifying attack took place at a West Australian home around 2.30am Tuesday.

The man’s 70-year-old father is in a critical condition in the Royal Perth Hospital.

His mother sustained serious head injuries in the assault and is being treated at the Fiona Stanley Hospital.

Investigations continue.
