Sorry, not sorry: Bieber, Skrillex react to stealing claims

The similarities are uncanny, but Justin Bieber and producer Skrillex insist they didn’t steal a vocal loop for the hit song Sorry.

Skrillex has taken to Twitter to explain how he came up with the sound for the 2015 hit single.

It comes after indi pop singer Casey Dienel (aka White Hinterland) filed a lawsuit against Bieber, Skrillex and Vivendi’s Universal Music during the week.

She has accused the Canadian of infringing her copyright to the song Ring the Bell by using a “virtually identical” riff without permission or compensation.

Skrillex fired back on social media with footage showing how he manipulated the original a cappella to create the riff they are accused of plagiarising.

Bieber re-tweeted the post with the hashtag #wedon’tsteal.
