Sound of Music star Charmian Carr dies, aged 73
The Sound of Music star Charmian Carr has died, aged 73.
The actress passed away in Los Angeles after complications from a rare form of dementia, Steve Hughes, the manager of Carr’s website confirmed in a statement online.
“Me and my family are so sad to have to post this message and will miss her dearly … She was such a nice, cheerful person,” Mr Hughes wrote.
Carr was best known for her role as the eldest Von Trapp daughter, Liesl, in the academy award winning movie, “The Sound of Music.”
She was 21 at the time the movie was filmed, and is famous for singing the beloved song “I Am Sixteen Going on Seventeen.”
