South Sydney Rabbitohs players fined for painkiller overdose

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have fined Dylan Walker and Aaron Gray five percent of their contracts following their painkiller overdoses earlier this year.

The pair were rushed to hospital after being found in a serious condition at Gray’s home in Sydney’s south east in the early hours of September 22.

The NRL club today announced both players would be fined five per cent of their 2015 contract value, with a further five per cent suspended.

Both players have also been ordered to attend educational sessions to better understand how to correctly use medicines, undertake a minimum of 20 hours community service and make themselves available for ongoing, regular drug testing.
