Southern Gold Coast traffic chaos after truck loses load on M1

Motorists are being warned of some big delays on the Southern Gold Coast this afternoon.

A truck lost its load in the Northbound lanes of the m1 at Currumbin which has caused the m1 and surrounding roads to be heavily congested.

Northbound traffic on the m1 is currently delayed back past the Gold Coast Airport.


Surrounding roads including Stewart Road, Currumbin Creek Road, Duringan Street, and Thrower Drive are also very congested with motorists taking detours.

The Gold Coast Highway northbound through Tugun and Currumbin is bumper to bumper.

Tugun Currumbin Road westbound is also at a standstill.

Golden Four Drive both ways from Tugun to Bilinga is completely congested too.
