Southport siege drama ends

UPDATE: A man has been arrested, accused of sparking a siege in Southport on Tuesday morning.

Police were called to Harris Street in Labrador at 8:30am, after a woman reported that she had received a threatening text message from a man.

Officers say their investigation led them to a unit block on Stevens Street in Southport after 9:00am, where a siege was sparked.


Polair and the Dog Squad were called in to assist but they were not needed in the end.

A man was arrested at the unit block (pictured below) and taken into custody.  There were reports he may have had a gun, but no weapons were found.
