Spate of crashes spark afternoon M1 chaos

Bad news for anyone travelling on the Pacific Motorway this afternoon, with two separate crashes causing motorway mayhem.

A number of cars collided southbound at Oxenford, just before the Exit 57 off-ramp, around 3.50pm.

It’s not yet known how many people, if any, have been injured.

Around the same time, at least two cars were involved in a nasty collision just before Exit 66 northbound at Helensvale.

Witnesses have told myGC that one of the vehicles, towing a trailer, has jack-knifed and is currently facing the opposite direction.

At least two lanes have been blocked, with lengthy delays being experienced.

Motorists are being urged to delay travel or seek alternative routes.
