Special Bond: Service dog helps girl with rare disorder walk on her own

Forget diamonds, a girl’s best friend is her dog and this beautiful story proves just why.

Bella Burton, 11, suffers from Marquio Syndrome, a degenerative metabolic disease that affects just 3000 people worldwide.

Since she was just 2-years-old, Bella has had to have crutches and wheelchairs to get around, however that all changed this year when Great Dane George came to stay.

Bella weighs only 43 pounds, and George, her specially trained service dog, weighs 131, so she can rest her weight on him just like a crutch.

The special bond the pair share has melted hearts around the world, with George giving Bella the ultimate gift of both friendship and freedom.
