Speeding motorcyclist leads Police to stolen car, jet skis

A speeding motorcyclist has led Police to a stack of stolen goods including a car, jet skis and a boat trailer.

The unregistered motorbike was clocked doing 140km/h in an 80 zone at Mermaid Waters just before 9pm on Friday night.

The Suzuki GSXR6R was tracked by Polair to a home in Tortuga Place at Clear Island Waters before the rider tried to hide the motorbike in bushes at a nearby vacant block.

Police arrived on scene a short time later finding the rider who was carrying a bag allegedly container a large amount of drugs.

Officers searched then searched the Tortuga Place property, uncovering a 2011 Landrover Discovery, two boat trailers and two jet skis all alleged to have been stolen.

More drugs, a homemade taser and a flick knife were also discovered.

A 30-year-old Tugun man is now facing 15 charges including possessing dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of suspected stolen property, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, driving without a licence and unlawful possession of weapons charges.

He’s been ordered to front Southport Magistrates Court in August.
