Sports club victim of armed robbery north of the GC

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a sports club north of the Gold Coast.

It’s claimed that two men forced their way into the Beenleigh business by smashing an upstairs window at around 2:50am on Wednesday morning.

The men, who were armed with a crowbar and a small axe, made their way to the ground floor of the Alamein Street property where they confronted a 36-year-old female employee and a 33 year-old male employee and told them they wanted money.

Both men were wearing dark clothing covering the whole of their body, mask or balaclavas covering their faces and gloves.

One of the offenders was further described as having a skinny build and 165 cm tall and that is the only description provided by police.
