Gold Coasters are being urged to help St John’s Crisis Centre fill Christmas food hampers and Santa gift sacks to give to those in need this Christmas.
Last year the Centre provided more than 120 Christmas food hampers. This year they’re aiming for 150, along with Christmas gifts for each member of the family.
Vicky Nicoll, the Co-ordinator of St John’s Christmas Hamper Appeal said that by the time families have reached out for help, they have often been through a traumatic situation.

“To alleviate pressure on our families at Christmas time, we endeavour to put together a substantial food hamper along with age appropriate gifts for everyone in that family, knowing that these will probably be the only gifts they receive,” Ms Nicoll said.
All donations of food items and unwrapped gifts can be delivered to the Church of the Holy Spirit at 73 Salerno Drive, Isle of Capri before December 4th.
St John’s also has volunteers who can organise a collection for those who cannot make it to the Church.
