Stabbed man found bleeding on street after park brawl

A MAN is in a serious condition after being stabbed during a wild brawl at a park in western Sydney overnight.

Police found the 20-year-old bleeding from a stab wound on Bennett Street in South Granville about 11.40pm.

Officers were responding to reports of a brawl at a park around the corner on Clyde Street when they found him.


Police rushed to the area, but the group had left the park before they arrived.

The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist police.

Anyone who witnessed the fight or has any information that could assist police with their investigation is urged to come forward.

Police are also wanting to speak with any motorists who may have been travelling through the area with a dash camera at the time.
