Stabbing victim staggers into Wollongong liquor store
A 62-YEAR-OLD man has stumbled into a Wollongong liquor store covered in blood after being stabbed by a stranger on the sidewalk.
Police said the man staggered into the Balgownie Road store at Balgownie nursing a stab wound to his stomach around 6.30pm last night.
It’s believed the 62-year-old was bailed up and stabbed by a stranger on Farrell Street in what police said appeared to be a random, unprovoked attack.
He was treated at the liquor store by paramedics for a non-life-threatening puncture wound to his abdomen before being transported to Wollongong Hospital in a stable condition.
As investigations continue, police are urging anyone with information to contact Wollongong Detectives or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
