STANDOFF | Armed man reportedly on the loose in San Francisco

Thousands of people have been evacuated from the United Nations plaza in San Francisco, amid reports an armed man is on the loose.

SWAT teams have been called in to deal with the stand-off.

They are looking for an adult male, seen holding something that may look like a weapon.

Police are monitoring the outskirts of the plaza and the surrounding area.
