Hundreds of lucky 1029 Hot Tomato listeners packed in to the ballroom at Jupiters Hotel & Casino on Friday night for a party like no other.
The 2015 Star Party, run in conjunction with Channel 7, saw a plethora of celebrities mingling with locals, including 800 Words actress Melina Vidler, Home and Away’s Matt Little and Reece Milne, The Chase’s Issa Schultz, Channel 7 newsreader Kendal Gilding and weatherman Tony Auden.
Olympic Swimmer and sport commentator Giaan Rooney was also spotted at the event with her husband Sam Levett in tow.

The Gold Coaster told myGC she was thrilled to be back on the Glitter Strip and was thoroughly enjoying her first ever Star Party: “This is incredible, it is actually my first date night with my husband since we’ve been back on the Gold Coast so this is extra special. Everyone is so gorgeous and I’m having great chats. I’ve been down towards the cake and the photo booth – there is just so many lovely people here. It just so great to meet so many fabulous Gold Coasters. We’re having a ball.”
Singer Samantha Jade also made sure she got the party started when she hit the stage, thrilling all with her soaring vocals and impressive dance moves.
Everyone’s favourite 1029 Hot Tomato personalities were there too including Mal & Luke (the drive boys broadcasted live before the event) Emily Jade, Scoot and Christo. Sadly Flan had to miss out on all the fun as he was cooped up at home sick.
Listener Tracey Krozier Was told myGC she was sad the hilarious Breakfast host was too ill to attend: “It’s a great night. But we are missing Flan!”
Her best pal Louise Crattoni said the pair are big Star Party fans and love celebrity spotting: “We were here last year and we had an absolute blast.”
Mayoral media advisor Milena Stojceska told myGC she was having a ball at her first ever Star Party: “It’s been amazing. You guys really do go all out at these kind of events. It’s great to see so many people here and everyone is having a good time.”
This year’s event was extra special, with Jupiters Gold Coast also celebrating their 30th birthday and boy did they make sure there was a cake big enough for the celebration.
The giant chocolate masterpiece topped with red macaroons was created by the venue’s head chef and took up pride of place next to the bar before it was cut up and devoured by guests.
Those with a sweet tooth also indulged in a white and dark chocolate fountain, complete with an array of tasty treats ready to be dipped into deliciousness.
Of course there was also plenty of drinking, dancing and dressing up for the popular photo booth!
A great night was had by all, and many listeners are already counting down until next year’s event.
