Star Trek actor, 27, dies after being hit by his own car
American actor Anton Yelchin has died in a freak accident in his Los Angeles driveway.
The 27-year-old, best known for his role as Pavel Chekov in the Star Trek reboot series, was killed when his car rolled down his driveway, pinning him against a brick wall.
“The car pinned him against a brick wall and a security fence and that trauma led to his death,” Jenny Houser, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Hundreds of fans and fellow actors have taken to social media to pay their respects.
