It’s starting to feel a lot like winter on the Gold Coast

It has been another wintery night on the Gold Coast and in the hinterland.

Late on Monday it was predicted that a cold burst could bring snow to Sunshine State.

There was the chance of a light dusting on the Granite Belt in the Darling Downs.

On the Gold Coast at 6:00am it was just 4 degrees at the Gold Coast Airport, but the Bureau of Meteorology tells us it feels like 1 degree.  The low at Coolangatta was 3.3 degrees.

At the Seaway it is nine degrees and the ‘apparent temperature’ (what it feels like) is just three.

While in Beaudesert the temperature was 1.8 but the overnight low was 0.8.

Stanthorpe and surrounding areas have seen temperatures plummet overnight – it’s still only around 2 degrees there now.

Overnight lows will remain in the single digits for the rest of the week.  It’s forecast to fall to 8 degrees on Thursday and again on Saturday.
