A statement about Ed Sheeran’s Aussie tour has been released

Aussie Ed Sheeran fans have received the news they have so desperately been waiting for…

Sheeran’s Australian tour will not be affected by his recent bicycle accident, which has left him unable to use both his right and left arm.

Fans were sent into a frenzy on Wednesday when the much-loved singer-songwriter cancelled his Asia tour dates.

“A visit to my doctors confirmed fractures in my right wrist and left elbow that will leave me unable to perform live concerts for the immediate future,” Sheeran wrote on Instagram.

“Sadly, this means that the following shows will not be able to go ahead as planned: Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong.

“I’m waiting to see how the healing progresses before we have to decide on shows beyond that. Please stay tuned for more details. PS – Ed isn’t typing this as he has both arms casted/bandaged.”

Frontier Touring, Sheeran’s Australian tour promoters, took to social media to confirm Ed’s 2018 Aussie tour will still go ahead.

“As the Australia and New Zealand leg of Ed Sheeran’s tour does not commence until March 2018, we have no reason to believe that the shows here will be affected,” they wrote in a statement.

We’re sure by March Ed will be fighting fit and incredibly excited about having the use of both his arms again. Rest up Ed – no more bicycles for you!”
