Stolen car found abandoned in Gold Coast creek

Investigations are underway after a stolen car was found ditched in a creek on the Gold Coast early this morning.

A member of the public came across a vehicle in the water at Weedons Crossing Bridge in Nerang just after 5.30 am.

Emergency services including firefighters and police attended but no one was found with the car.

Police say the vehicle was taken from a Pimpama home overnight, before being abandoned in the creek.

Firefighters are working to get the car out.

Investigations are continuing.
