‘Stoned’ driver nabbed going 185km/h with six kids in van
A MAN allegedly high on drugs has been clocked speeding at close to 200km/h in a van with six children in the back near the Victorian-NSW border.
Highway patrol officers intercepted the 36-year-old man’s Toyota Tarago on the Hume Highway at Wodonga on Friday night.
In a statement, Victoria Police said officers had clocked the Tarago travelling at 185km/h in a 110 zone about 7.20pm.
Police pulled over the van and noticed a woman and six children also inside the vehicle.
The 36-year-old man behind the wheel allegedly failed a roadside drug test and returned a positive reading for cannabis.
He was charged with numerous traffic-related offences and bailed to appear in Wangaratta Magistrates Court on July 29.
