If pop-up stores aren’t your thing, how about a pop-up literary hit – at the beach?
The much-loved Storyfest Beach Library is back at Surfers Paradise for ten days, giving beachgoers the chance to dig their toes into the sand and heads into a good book.
Storyfest CEO and Festival Director, Andrea Lewis, said pre-loved books will be available for children to take home for free, and there’s also entertainment and workshops on offer.

“On Saturday 23 and 30 January, children will have the opportunity to craft their very own pieces of unique story-telling art, with award-winning children’s book Illustrator Lucia Masciullo,” said Ms Lewis.
There will also be a special appearance by Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, thanks to Village Roadshow Theme Parks, friends of Somerset Storyfest.
Registration is required for Beach Library workshops as spaces are limited, but everyone is welcome to join the free author readings.
The Beach Library runs from 10am to 3pm daily, through to Sunday 31 January. It comes ahead of the Storyfest writer’s festival, to be held at various locations across the Gold Coast in March.
