SAMANTHA Stosur has been knocked out of the Wimbledon warm-up event in Nottingham by fellow Australian, Casey Dellacqua.
The Gold Coaster took the first set, before losing the next two to the Perth left-hander (2-6 6-2 6-2) who will now head into the quarter-finals of the AEGON Classic.
Fox Sports reports, the result places Dellacqua on the cusp of a Wimbledon seeding as she’s set to surpass her career-best mark of No 39.

If Dellacqua eclipses Japanese veteran Kimiko Date-Krumm and advances to the semi-finals – or further – the world No.43 will charge into the top 30 for the first time in an injury-wracked career. And she would be guaranteed a Wimbledon seeding in 10 days.
Dellacqua said she had to overcome a daunting mental hurdle before facing one of her closest friends.
“Sam and I are very good friends. We’ve played years and years on tour. I’ve known her since I was 15,” she said.
“But, yeah, once we get out on court we both obviously want to win and we put our best foot forward. At the end of the day, that’s all we both want to do.”
